Who This Is For

Owners and managers of businesses in South Bend, Mishawaka, Elkhart, Goshen, Plymouth and across Northern Indiana — usually 15 to 150 employees — who have outgrown "we'll figure out IT when something breaks" but can't justify a six-figure CIO. It fits companies with an internal IT person who needs a strategic counterpart, companies whose current IT provider only ever talks about tickets, and companies facing a decision bigger than their IT experience: a second location, an acquisition, an ERP change, a customer's compliance demand, a cyber-insurance renewal with new conditions attached.

The Problem: Technology Decisions Made One Emergency at a Time

In most small and mid-sized businesses, nobody owns technology strategy. The owner makes IT decisions between everything else, usually when a vendor calls or something fails. Equipment is replaced when it dies rather than when it's planned. Subscriptions accumulate. A customer sends a security questionnaire and it takes three weeks to answer. The insurance carrier adds a requirement at renewal and the premium jumps. None of these are IT failures — they are the predictable result of having no one at the table whose job is to look ahead.

A vCIO puts someone at that table. Not a salesperson, not a help-desk technician — a strategist who knows your business, knows what technology costs around here, and meets with you regularly to keep decisions deliberate instead of reactive.

What We Offer

vCIO Services (Strategic Advisory)

A virtual Chief Information Officer who acts as your technology strategist: roadmap planning, budget guidance, vendor evaluation, compliance planning and board-ready reporting. Regular touchpoints so your technology stays aligned with your business.

IT Management Consulting

Focused on the technology itself: infrastructure, security, and operations. We assess your current state, identify gaps, and recommend a path forward — whether you're improving what you have or planning a major change.

Management Consulting

Objective advice on how to organize IT, choose vendors, and prioritize projects. We help you make decisions that support growth, compliance, and risk management without the overhead of a large consultancy.

What's Included in vCIO Service

  • Technology roadmap — a written 12–36 month plan: what gets replaced, upgraded or retired, and when, tied to what the business is trying to do
  • IT budget — every vendor, subscription and piece of aging hardware in one place, with next year's spend forecast and the waste identified
  • Quarterly business reviews — a scheduled sit-down to review what happened, what's coming, and what needs a decision
  • Vendor and contract evaluation — internet, phones, software, cloud, copiers: we read the contracts, compare the options and negotiate on your behalf
  • Compliance and insurance planning — HIPAA, CMMC / NIST 800-171, FTC Safeguards, cyber-insurance questionnaires: translated into a gap list, a plan and a cost
  • Risk register — the plain-English list of what could take the business down, how likely it is, and what it would cost to close each gap
  • Project oversight — scoping, vendor management and acceptance for major projects, whether LecsIT or a third party does the work
  • On-call for decisions — a lease renewal, an acquisition, a software demo, a strange email from a vendor: call before you sign

How an Engagement Starts

  1. Discovery. A conversation about the business first — goals, growth plans, what keeps you up at night — and the technology second.
  2. Current-state assessment. Inventory of systems, vendors, contracts, spend and risks. For most businesses this is the first time it has all been in one document.
  3. Roadmap and budget. A prioritized plan with real costs and dates, reviewed with you line by line.
  4. Cadence. Quarterly reviews, plus calls as decisions come up. The roadmap is updated, not filed.

Many clients run advisory alongside our managed IT services so strategy and day-to-day operations stay in sync. Businesses with their own internal IT staff use it as the strategic layer their team doesn't have time for — see co-managed IT.

Pricing

Ongoing vCIO service is a fixed monthly retainer sized to how much strategic time your business needs. One-off engagements — a current-state assessment, a vendor selection, a compliance plan — are scoped and quoted as a fixed price, or billed at our published hourly consulting rates where the scope is open-ended. You know the cost before we start.
